1911 – Hitachi manufactures the first air compressor in Japan.
1940 – Hitachi manufactures first small Bebicon air compressor.
1954 – Hitachi manufactures first Oil-Free reciprocating air compressor.
1967 – Hitachi starts development of the 1st oil free rotary screw air compressors.
1969 – Hitachi develops the 1st vortex blower.
1980 – Hitachi starts development of the two-stage 75 and 100 kW DSP series oil free rotary screw air compressor series.
1981 – Hitachi produces the high capacity Vortex Blower E-series portfolio.
1982 – Hitachi develops the World’s smallest oil-free kW air compressor. The 37-55 kW single stage air compressor wins the JSME technology advancement award.
1984 – Hitachi starts development of the 15-22 kW single stage air compressor, making it the World’s smallest oil-free kW air compressor.
1985 – Hitachi manufactures the World’s 1st scroll air compressor (lubricated).
1986 - Hitachi starts development of the aircooled 15-22 kW single stage air compressor, making it the World’s smallest aircooled oil-free kW air compressor.
1992 – Hitachi produces the high pressure Vortex Blower G-series portfolio.
1993 – Hitachi starts development of the 22-37 kW two stage air compressor, making it the World’s smallest two stage oil-free kW air compressor.
1995 – Hitachi produces the oil-less scroll to succeed the lubricated scroll air compressor.
1999 – Hitachi introduces the new generation of oil free DSP air compressors with new airend design.
2000 – Hitachi introduces 37-55 kW single stage variable speed drive oil free rotary screw air compressor, with integrated Hitachi inverter.
2001 – Hitachi develops the oil-less scroll air compressor package, Scroll Bebicon.
2004 – Hitachi debuts the 1 Hp oil-less scroll air compressor.
2006 – To date, Hitachi has manufactured over 15,000 oil free rotary screw air compressors and 13,000 scroll air compressors.
2007 – Hitachi introduces the Air Technology Group the US market!
