Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are microprocessor-based devices used to control industrial processes or machines. PLCs were originally designed to replace control relays, timers and counters found in conventional hardwired control systems. Today's PLCs can provide advanced functions, including analog monitoring, control and high speed motion control. PLCs can also share data over communication networks.
